I know now there is no one to blame. My conditions have affected me not only physically but also mentally—it’s stopped me from being able to do so many things that other kids can do. OVER THE WALL Camps have helped me to achieve things I could never do before. At Camp I feel like I don’t stand out as different and I was able to take part in all the activities, even the ones I’d usually be excluded from because I was too unwell. I am now comfortable talking about my illness and my feelings without being intimidated. I now know that other people are in the same position as me and they listen without criticising or judging me.
