Hello everyone. Thanks so much for popping by and checking out my charity fundraising page.
I am travelling to Costa Rica at the end of June for 7 weeks with the registered charity Raleigh International. They are an amazing charity who work with communities across remote areas of the world developing their infrastructure and helping them to be more self sufficient. The volunteer groups are made up of disadvantaged youths from all across the world. The work they do helps them to gain confidence, become motivated and learn new skills to help them in the rest of their lives. This model of work has proved amazingly successful since 1984 and have worked with over 30,000 people.
I will be acting as a project manager whilst out there and will be looking after a group of young adults who will be tasked with a number of projects such as assisting with the building of a school and building clean safe community toilets. This is going to be a huge challenge and I have been told to expect to work extremely long hard days. I have no doubt this will be the hardest thing I have ever done but equally the most rewarding.
My work have very kindly offered to pay for my flights and accommodation but the charity requires all volunteers to contribute. I am looking to raise £800 to contribute towards this project and would be so grateful if you could spare anything at all.
My aim is to record and release an album by the end of May and attempt to sell 160 copies for £5 each.
