The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation has two aims, the first to promote independent worldwide research into all aspects of prostate cancer; and the second to spread the crucial knowledge gathered from that research as far afield as possible, via an internationally recognised forum, attended by the world’s top prostate cancer experts. The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation is also the home of the Bob Monkhouse ‘Give a few bob’ campaign www.giveafewbob.org.

My story

Thanks a bunch for visiting my fundraising page. I am running the London Marathon on April the 13th for Prostate Cancer as this is a cause pretty close to home. This disease got the better of my late father (Mattie) in 1998 and I felt it appropriate on the 10 year anniversary to run this marathon in aid of Prostate Cancer Research and also in memory of my Mum(Maura) and other members of my family that have been affected by Cancer.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Prostate Cancer Research Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
I’m hoping to raise between £1500-£2000 for this cause, which would be the equivalent of around 60-80 people sponsoring me at a pound a mile (£26.20). I know that this might be a bit steep for some of you – so any amount received will be much appreciated - anything at all!
Thanks again....and I'm not sure where in the world you might be on the 13th of April but if you are in London and you fancy popping out to give some support then you are more than welcome(the more support the better!).
