Story
After a long, hard year of running, I have decided to give myself a break. Although I had intended to run a full marathon this year, it just simply did not happen. It has given me such respect to those who have accomplished the amazing challenge of running 26 miles.
I have decided to run the Amsterdam Half Marathon instead of the full for several reasons. Family not being able to come, pressure of the long and lonely training runs, and just sheer 'laziness' has prevented me from overcoming this hurdle! However, I know I can complete a half, and would like to take this final run of the year to do something good.
I don't pretend to be an expert on politics or foreign affairs, but it's no secret that there is indeed a refugee crisis and children are suffering. People are homeless, sick, and living on the street, children are scared, in danger and not in school and safe houses where they belong.
All I can do is try to help, and that is simply what I plan to do.
I have a birthday coming up...instead of giving me a gift (as I'm sure you all plan to do), how about donate to Save the Children. It will mean so much more.

Lots of love to those who care,
