Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I foolishly applied for a place in the London Marathon 2015, thinking there was no way would my name be pulled out of the hat. Lo and behold it did, and now here I am!
I have been running for the last few years on and off. The furthest I've ran is a half marathon, back in summer 2013. That took me 1hr 45mins and after it I just went back to the odd 4/5 miles here and there. My aim for this marathon is under 4 hours - which leaves me with quite a bit of work to do!
However, I am determined to put my all into this, it's not something that comes around everyday (thankfully), and I am not planning on doing another in future! Finding the discipline between training, diet, work, rest and play will be tough but I see it as 4 months hard graft - and to come out the other side, having raised some money for charity, along with being able to say 'I gave it my best shot' will be a great feeling!
The hard work has started and will continue until I hobble up the Mall and collapse in a heap at the finish line. The first week of training has provided gale force winds, rain, sleet and snow, so it promises to be an entertaining few months!
I have chosen to support the National Autistic Society.
