On the 10th October (my 55th birthday) I will be setting off from Kendal Leisure Centre, flanked by a team of Oxfam supportersfor the first mile, to ride to London. My chosen mode of transport is a Cycles Maximus pedicab rickshaw - sturdy, solid, incapable of breaking down, and very heavy! My aim is to reach London in about 16 days. During the ride I will try and collect as much money as possible for Oxfam. I will be offering people the chance to ride a mile as my passenger for a minimum donation of £5, or they can just throw money at me as I inch past. I hope that, by the time I arrive in London, I will have more than just sore muscles (and bottom) to show for my efforts. Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I have also started a blog - new to me but I'm learning. If you go to www.blog.co.uk and type in cateintherickshaw you should find it
update: I did it! Arrived in London 11days after setting out, and 320 miles later. Very thrilled to have achieved this, and even more thrilled that Frank managed to ride a fantastic 31 miles on the last day, to finish with me - in the rain, like the first day. Any donations will still be gratefully accepted. Thanks.
