The Gorilla Organization works to protect the endangered mountain gorilla in its native habitat. It also works to ensure that local people benefit from their unique natural heritage. The Organization, founded by the late Dian Fossey who lived with the gorillas, is involved in education, conservation and public awareness.

My story

27 September 2008 marked our fifth year to run through London dressed in full-body gorilla suits, raising funds for this critically endangered species. You can spot our orange & green T-shirts this year on several pictures on FlickR (http://www.flickr.com/photos/vibrantpictures/2892252979) as well as the BBC News (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7639535.stm).

Thanks to many generous friends, colleagues and clients, our team has raised over 5000 pounds over the years (see e.g. www.justgiving.com/ozaru2007) but that's still just a drop in the ocean. Please do sponsor us next year (see www.justgiving.com/ozaru2009) -- better still, why not join us?

You can see where the money goes by visiting www.gorillas.org - many people are surprised to learn that much is used for sustainable development of local human communities too.
