Next sunday, 13th Aug 2011, I will be cycling from my new abode in wimbledon to cambridge, then back to broxbourne, in aid of charity. Total distance of about 100miles, with all proceeds going to the Burned Childrens Club @ Chelmsford Hospital, which is built up of Doctors, Nurses, Firemen and Volunteers that give up their time to give victims of fires something to live for. Weekends away, special events etc. I raised £600 last year just going from Broxbourne to Cambridge and back, purely through scare tactics and what the police class as racketeering......
I am putting in £50 myself, as I have only just been able to commit to the ride, with work commitments etc, and would love that each of you could do even just a token gesture.
Failing that, I will burst into your homes at 4am with pictures of 3rd degree burns on a 4 yr old and we'll re-asses the "not got enough money to help the kids out" idea..........trust me.......I can, and will do this........
If you ever look at a 5 year old girl with 60% burns to her body and just take the moment to think thats how she will grow up, then a £10 doesn't seem that much now, does it........
