As many of you know I celebrated my 60th birthday in 2006 by cycling from Berlin to Warsaw and raising £3000 for Marie Curie - thanks to the encouragement and generosity of my friends and acquaintances. So, I've decided to support this worthwhile charity again and cycle from Tallin to St Petersburg in September 2008 - I've put my bus pass away for a while and I'm training hard as this will be a tough route, cycling against strong coastal winds.

Raising a minimum of £3000 is also challenging, but I'm hoping that those who  supported me before can be persuaded to  help me again and I'm  confident  that others  can  be encouraged  to  do so for the first time - remember that £20 can pay for a Marie Curie nurse for one hour in a patient's home.
