My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running this marathon in memory of my dear dad David Cox, who as a close and loving family we lost 8 years ago.

I have wanted, for a long time, to complete a challenge in honour of my Dad and I’ve chosen The London Marathon as it's one of the biggest challenges of all. Dad loved a challenge, big sporting events and especially supporting his boys, so I know if he was with us today he would have been, in his own unique way, giving me advice on how I can do it in the quickest time and cheering me when I crossed the line. This is a real challenge for me, but one I am really looking forward to.

Dad was a passionate Head Teacher for 25 years and paramount in his belief was developing children and keeping them safe from harm. This is why I have chosen Kidscape as my charity so they can carry on their fantastic work in keeping children safe from harm and abuse

Kidscape was the UK’s first charity dedicated to the prevention of child bullying and abuse.  Since its formation 25 years ago, Kidscape has helped to protect many thousands of children through the wide range of support it provides.  Unfortunately, each year, an alarming number of children still are victims of either bullying or abuse – so there’s still more work to be done!  Kidscape relies heavily on public donations to continue delivering on its vital mission.

Thank again for visiting my page and reading why I’ve chosen to fundraise for this particular charity.
