Devizes to Westminster Kayak Race · 29 March 2013

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need. Our trained volunteers and employees provide practical, emotional and financial assistance to the Armed Forces community to ensure they never battle alone.

Story

Patrick Lindsay and Henry Naylor are in the double kayak class competing in the Devizes to Westminster. In doing the grueling 125 mile kayak race, we will be raising money for SSAFA Forces Help.

SSAFA stands for Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association Forces Help

They are the national charity for those who serve in our Armed Forces, those who used to serve, and their families.Their commitment is to provide a lifetime of support to anyone who has ever served. Each year, their trained staff and network of 7,500 volunteers provide practical support and assistance to more than 50,000 people, from D-Day veterans to young soldiers wounded in Afghanistan.

It will have taken us 8 months of training to be able to complete this challenge in the end, with 4 other one-day Waterside races in anticipation of the main race.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and any donations will be very much appriciated and will go straight to SSAFA.
