Personal message:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I appreciate your generosity in making a contribution and I have to confess that I am looking forward to the trek itself too.

If you have got this far you probably know the score already but I am planning to walk up Kilimanjaro in June and in the process raise some money for a charity called Merlin, the background to which is explained on this page.

Donating through this site is quite straighforward and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me. Merlin (Medical Emergency Relief International) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now.

Thanks very much,

Patrick Sherwen

P.S. I think Nigel's inadvertent advice below that I should take my  car is probably the most sensible suggestion I have heard so far. Thanks Nigel: if can, will take car.
