UPDATE I am delighted to say that I completed the marathon on Sunday in one piece and indeed ran across the finishing line! My time was a little over 5 hours which, considering I had not run for four weeks because of back injury and had only been signed off to participate by my consultant a couple of days before the race, I thought was an OK outcome! As ever, the atmosphere was incredible and not dampened by the terrible weather - storms and hailstones. You will all be relieved to hear that this was defininately my last marathon! ******************************************************************************************** Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. It is an incredibly easy, straightforward and painless way for you to support me in my endeavour to run the London Marathon again on 13 April 2008. Having run the London Marathon in 2005 and 2006 and after each one saying "never again" it is a bit of a mystery as to why I find myself committed to having another go. There are two reasons - I want to see if I can beat my 2006 time of just over 5 hours ( very unlikely! ) and avoid cramping up ( inevitable I fear! ). I also want to raise another decent sum for my chosen charity. You may already be aware that I am running in aid of CLIC Sargent ( www.clicsargent.org.uk ), the UK's leading children's cancer charity. If you are not and would like to read about the work that they undertake please look at the section to the left of this box. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC Sargent will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you very much in advance for your support and encouragement. I will let you know what happens on the big day. Patrick Wilson
