im paul thomas and im 31 yrs old in jan 2009 i set a challenge of reaching 7 of the worlds toughest peaks , to raise monies for cancer research wales with a friend of mine who has suffered luikimea scott cullen who is 22 also from merthyr the reason i chose this charity is for the support they gave a close family member who suffered with breast cancer and i wanted to give something back to say thanks . so we started the 2nd of mar we reached the summit of pen-y-van the highest peak in south wales next was mt snowdon north wales which we summited on may 11th , our 3rd mountain was the highest in the u.k ben nevis scotland at 5 miles up a really tough climb which we summited on the 12th july then on the 2nd of aug we reached the summit of scarfell pike the highest peak in england , to finish off the u.k on sep 10th we climbed caounterhill in county kerry ireland,, thats the highest peak in every country in the u.k complete. next on the 17th of october i took on mont blanc the highest peak in western europe in the french alps. ,on the 20th of nov i headed to nepal were i took on the highest mountain on earth mount everest the most challenging experiene of my life a 18 day hike up through the himalayas on returning home from everest not content that i had done enough for charity this year i decided to get dropped off at buckingham palace on the 8th dec i then started my final hike a 25 mile trek per day which took me through slough reading thatcham swindon gloucester chepstow cardiff then to my home town merthyr tydfil which i arrived on the 17th of december
