Demelza Hospice Care for Children cares for life-limited children and their families across Kent, East Sussex and South London. The services combine Demelza House, an eight-bedded hospice in Kent; Demelza Community, a hospice-at-home service based in East Sussex and Demelza South London, a new six-bedded hospice opened in April 2009 in Eltham.

My story

Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

This year I am running the Flora London Marathon in support of Demelza who provide hospice care for children. Please find out more about the fantastic work they do at www.demelzahouse.org. I have a particular interest in supporting them because of the help they have given to my friends, Caroline and Simon Tucker, and their family. Their youngest daughter, Sophie, needs constant medical care and attention, and the nurses at Demelza James have looked after her so that Caroline and Simon can do things that the rest of us take for granted, such as go shopping, attend parents' evenings, or even have a couple of hours off at the cinema. Without the help of the Demelza nurses everyday life would be that bit more complicated and difficult for them all.

Please dig deep and sponsor me online so that Demelza can continue to help children like Sophie and their families.
