A huge big THANK YOU to you all for the sponsorships you gave, they contributed to me making more than my target for NOS and will mean the charity is able to continue their great work in helping those suffering with Osteoporosis.
I had a fantastic race day, and probably the best birthday I can remember in a long time. It was a scorcher of a day with the sun bringing the temperatures up to one of the hottest Marathon days they've had in a while. The heat did mean it took me a little longer to complete than I had hoped, 5hrs, 30mins and 15secs, but what’s 30-45mins when you're enjoying yourself
A big THANK YOU too for all the good wishes and support throughout my training and on the day, espcially to my family and friends who cheered me on along the way

Hello and Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Not long ago, in the middle of October, I had a bit of a mad moment, or 10, when I signed myself up for the 2009 Flora London Marathon. The race is actually being run on my birthday, and what with this next birthday being a significant middle one, I thought what better way to take my mind off it than to channel my energies into getting myself round 26.2 miles of London streets!!!
Its near enough two years since I ran a half marathon, and four since walking a full marathon, so I suppose to RUN a full one was always going to be something that I should have considered doing, yet I still can’t quite believe I have actually gone and committed to it. But after learning how Osteoporosis can affect many of us as we get older and how debilitating it can be, I will be running to raise money for the work of the National Osteoporosis Society.
Many of you very kindly sponsored me on those last two occasions I mentioned, and I really hope, even with all this economic doom and gloom, you will be able to support me again for what will be a really big task. I'll need all the incentive I can get to keep me going; on the long training schedule, (think horrible dark, cold, wet and windy nights!), the abstinence (no chocolate, alcohol, puddings...), and then all the pain haling myself round the pavements of London on the day.
As places are so hard to come by, the donation target is higher for this event so every pound really counts. If you know of others who would like to perform a radom act of kindness, please pass this link on to them http://www.justgiving.com/paulahennelly.
Donating here is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me as it will mean NOS will receive your money much faster. But of course if you don't have a credit card, all cash and cheque donations will be gladly received.
Thanks very much for your support
