Didn't manage to get lucky with the ballot so decided to pick a charity. Prostate Cancer seemed a good one and as I'd not heard much about prostate cancer, which is odd considering 10,000 men die of it each year....shocking!
So if you are a man, sponser me now! and if you're a girlie I'm sure you know a man...if you know what I mean ...nudge nudge wink wink ...eh!!! ....so no excuse you can sponser me as well!!!
Training Diary (hmm well sort of). 05/10/08 All done (for this year) in a personal best of 2hrs 7mins and 24 secs (1st ever half marathon so was always going to be a PB). Really enjoyed the race, took things easy to start with.
Big thanks to all who sponsored my....photos to follow...maybe!
05/10/08 Race day is here and the 6:55 train beckons. Not Sure if sleep the night before a run is a good thing or not but about to find out as was too excited to get much!
30/09/08 Much happier with a good 8 mile run to Overton and back, knee supports did the job but not the most trendy of running gear but guess that goes for the rest of me!
29/09/08 No training today so far, but even better than training...lots of sponsorship, thanks.
26/09/08 Short 3 miler at lunch time to test out knees and very (not) atractive knee supports.
24/09/08 Feeling guilty 'cos didn't get time to go out over the weekend, but ended up wishing hadn't bothered. Knees very sore from 2 miles so not very pleasent, trudged around to Overton and then back (7.4 ish miles). 17/09/08 Circular 6.84 miles at lunchtime (well thats what the GPS said!)
14/09/08 10 miles along the river to Overton and back.
12/09/08 Circular 6.7 miles at lunchtime.
09/09/08 Short 4.8 miles to try and get my speed up.....well nice try!
07/09/08 Bit of a frustrating run as the Ouse flooded my intended route, but please with the distance 11.4 miles and the time of 1:53 hours isn't too bad.
04/09/08 A quick photo for the website then a pleasant 6.8 miler circular route to Gate Hemsley.
02/09/08 Nice run out by the river in the cooling evening of about 8 miles
31/08/08 Very wet run in the rain but managed just over 8 miles to Overton and back.
26/08/08 Good run of almost 6 miles around the country lanes near Upper Helmsey
25/08/08 Longer run from home of 4.7 miles, proper hard work after a month off from serious running.
22/07/08 Well the training has started with a few shortish runs (3 miles) and a couple of longer Sunday runs up to 5 miles. The times aren't great but its begining to feel a little easier.
