Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. On December 2nd 2007 I ran my first ever Half Marathon in aid of Diabetes UK along with my friend and running partner Scott Young in a time of 2hr 26:44 . I have two family members who were diagnosed with (type 1) Insulin dependent diabetes in early childhood. Their medication regime means that they can sometimes take between four and six injections in one day. At present there is no cure for this type of diabetes which can lead to long-term complications such as Amputation Kidney Failure and Blindness. As scientists develop a deeper understanding of the disease; funding for breakthrough research has never been more important than at this critical time.
