Hello Everyone and today is the 27th April and i have done it, hurrah the entire LONDON MARATHON in my wellies.
It was a truly amazing day and the atmosphere was incredible. So many people with so many stories to tell combined as one to raise money for their cause. It was great to meet Team Perry who were running for the sixth time for their sister , they gave me a much needed boost at the start , how you managed in a gorilla suit in the heat i just don't know, well done guys. To any other BEAT runners well done.
I think i am now officially called welly women in London!
I would like to say a big thank you to everybody who has supported me, you have all been magnificent.
To Chris and to William thank you for negotiating the London Tube System when one line was down and waiting and waiting for me to finish sorry i was a bit longer than i expected but i so wanted to finish and enjoy the day .
The time was drum roll here taking away the time it takes to cross the start line for the back runners and those much talked about toilet stops
6 hours 2 mins and 32 seconds
Would i do it again next year, without a doubt it was fantastic.
Charlotte dear Charlotte i thought about you every step of the way .
Thank you for visiting my site. This year i will be running the London Marathon for BEAT in memory of my daughter Charlotte who passed away in the summer of 2007 at the tender age of 18 from Anorexia. To make sure it is just a little bit more difficult i will be wearing my WELLIES . I ran the Norwich 1/2 marathon in November 08 in 2hrs and 33mins about which i was very pleased ( my medal is in the picture along with my faithful companion and running partner Pippa and the WELLIES of course ) I am in super welly training now for a 20 miler in March, so if you see a women running the country lanes of Norfolk in her WELLIES give us a wave, !!
Charlotte was an amazing and ambitious young women, brilliant and beautiful . She had worked hard to obtain the necessary exams to attend Cambridge and had worked for Red Bull Formula One in London on an Internship during her summer break.Charlotte had so many interests had done so much and had so much more to do she was simply inspiring and so much fun to have around.
Charlotte was cruelly taken from us with this awlful illness and i will as so many not understand how much she suffered and because of this i would like to raise funds to help support BEAT in anyway i can so those who suffer and their families get the help and support they deserve.
Thank you so much for listening to this message
Pauline ( Charlotte's Mum x ) Thanks to William , Charlotte's dear 13 year old brother for taking the picture.
