I did it! I ran the London Marathon on the 26th of April (26.2 miles!!). It took me 4 hours 52 minutes, and was one of the best experiences of my life. I ran all the way, I didn't use my fairy wings even once - although that was definately a tempting thought from around 21 miles. The weather was pretty challenging for me as it was scorching hot sun the whole time - not what I am used to in Scotland's Clyde Valley. But the crowds were amazing, and the feeling of crossing that line was priceless!
If you were wondering why I put myself through it, watch the video under my picture. If you haven't got round to it - you can still sponsor me and help vulnerable children, who often have no one else to turn to - as much as you can afford, no matter how small. If you can't get your head around this site - email me on paulineblaney@hotmail.com and we can sort out paypal or something and I will put it on this site for you.
As you can see from the donations list, I've raised a stack of money through fundraising events - so a big THANKS to everyone who helped and came along!
ChildLine is the UK’s free 24-hour helpline for young people in distress or danger. Every day around 4500 children call ChildLine, but lack of funds means only 2500 will get through to a counsellor. Every £4 raised will answer a call first time from a child who might be desperate and may not have anyone else to turn to.
Donating using Justgiving is easy and secure. ChildLine gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving ensures an extra 28% in Gift Aid is added.
Thank yoooooooooou!
