Story
For 2 weeks in September 2007, four of us will be cycling the length of the Pyrenees from Biarritz on the Atlantic coast to Perpignan on the Med. We’ll be covering 600 miles in distance, and around 16,000 metres of climb (twice the height of Everest) taking in some 20 or so peaks including the infamous Col de Tourmalet (2115m), Col d'Aubisque (1709m) and Col d'Aspin (1489m). As well as satisfying some personal ambitions we aim to raise £10,000 in sponsorship for 4 British charities.
We’ve each registered with one charity; I’ve picked the The British Kidney Patients Association. The others are:
- The British Heart Foundation
- The Princes Trust
- ICan
We've put in a lot of training over the past year and now its time to see if we're fit enough for the challenge. Our wives and kids have had to endure many a weekend without us so I do hope you'll dig deep to help turbo-charge our efforts and make this a worthwhile effort for our charities.
Thank you!
Paul
