My story

Hi,thanks for viewing this page. My running number for this years London Marathon is 31611
It's not easy to say that one certain charity is more worthy than another, with so many worthy causes, but this is why 'Help For Heroes' is my choice by a long way...

To me, giving to 'Help For Heroes' is like GIVING SOMETHING BACK. It's a way of saying THANKS to ALL our fantastic servicemen and women who selflessly lay themselves on the line for us day after day.......To be honest, having ran the London Marathon 1/2 dozen times there's no point trying to convince you that it's hell. But it is a great platform for people like you and me to show just how much we appreciate the task our men and women of the armed forces carry out for us unconditionally. Many of the supporters of 'Help For Heroes' are just ordinary people who don't sleep at night worrying if their loved ones will come home safe, indeed, some of the runners are 'Forces members themselves, and are running on behalf of their injured colleagues, so I guess it will be quite an emotional day for a lot of people and I for one, am absolutely proud to be part of this years 300 strong 'Help For Heroes' running team   I'll be dressing up for the day, in such a way that there will be no mistaking my support for our fantastic heroes..... There is no fundraising target on this page and an amount is not an issue..We are just a small group who quietly want to show our appreciation to our brave men and women, and hopefully you will increase that number by one more..So whoever you are, and whatever the donation, I will be absolutely proud to say 'THANKS' to  our heroes on your behalf...(Many of whom will be there on the day) You can donate securely online through this page by clicking the link at the top or bottom of the page..Thank you so much for supporting them with me...Paul..

I am still in the process of collecting donations and will be sending the sheets with all the names above and the covering donations,(including A.Kennedy) to H4H account this weekend, 09/05/09. I know there are still a few people who wish to donate and this page will be kept open for you and will do so until confirmation of final amount has been received. If anyone on this page wishes to see a copy of the final amount certificate, just email me at pbridgeway@googlemail.com and I'll make sure you receive one. Right now the fund stands just over £1216 and this is a fantastic way to show our appreciation..Just can't thank you all enough..Paul..

This page is finally coming to it's end, but will stay open for payment comfirmation. Even now, people are still kindly supporting our heroes through this page and I am delighted to to add on the donations from Mrs Jones (Khormaksar) and extend further thanks to Martin(Nocton social club) for rounding off a collection at The Bard public house in Bardney contributing another £40, and also to my friends at Briggs Metals (Newark) C.Barker, M.Maidlow, S.Cooling, J.Boswell and S.Chapman for contributing another £55 (all giftaided) to this page..I know I keep saying thank you, but times are a little difficult for everyone at present, theres a couple of youngsters on this page that gave their pocket money, willingly, and there are others who donate to more than one cause, the thing is, it is your money and no-one has to contribute. But you did. I felt really proud running for our Heroes and I hope you all feel the same way because our Heroes are £1316.45p better off this weekend and it's all down to every single person on this page..So once again..THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH....Paul...
