My story

I am running the British 10K London run on 6th July in aid of Transplants in Mind.  More impressively I will apparently be running the 10k at half nine on a Sunday morning following a night of wine and Gaucho steak. I haven’t run further than two miles for many a year so the odds of me making it are 2:1 at best. Therefore whatever amount you were thinking of sponsoring me please just double it!

I could write about a few transplant stories here to encourage you to sponsor me. However, if you’re reading this then you’re either a friend or family member and therefore I know you’re smart enough to be aware of the tragedies that unfortunately occur, or you’ve at the very least watched an episode of ER! I’m lucky enough that I haven’t been directly affected but I have friends that have been and if you don’t sponsor me loads of dough then I’ll get them to call you and make you cry! You know I’m that dark…

If you’re running short of spondulics at the moment then be aware that there is an even better way to help, you could sign up to the NHS Organ Donor Register https://www.uktransplant.org.uk  Of course, you should probably do this whether you sponsor me or not…

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me; Transplants in Mind will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Dad – I’ve just realized I don’t even own any outdoor trainers, any chance you can donate a pair as well as the dough?! As for the rest of you, the odds just increased to 3:1, treble the amount, TREBLE IT!

Over and out,
Paul Smith a.k.a. Dark Lord Smith, Arky, Smudger, etc.

I'll make it a round number although please continue to donate. It took 48mins58secs and I didn't pass any other TIM T-shirts so wooden spoon to me?! Donation by Me! 06/07/08

It would probably cost you £3 a km if you drove it in your shiny red sports car, so I think it's fair to pay you the same for running it. Good luck! Donation by Simon E-C 29/05/08
