Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking part in the Santa Run 2009, taking place in Greenwich Park, south London on 6 December. It's a 5km run where I will be dressed as Father Christmas himself.
I am running for Community Links. If you haven't heard of Community Links, this is what they do:
Community Links is an innovative charity running community-based projects in east London and sharing local lessons to create national change.
Social problems blight our communities. For people in Newham, where most of our local projects take place, life can be a challenge:
- Unemployment rate is double the England average
- 55% of children live in poverty
- Almost a quarter of the population have no qualifications
- Crime rates are a third higher than the London average
Our network of over 60 community projects empowers individuals and communities to help them build their own ladder out of poverty – and towards a brighter future.
With our record of success since 1977, our national work shares the local lessons across the country to widen the impact of our projects and generate lasting social change.
If you would like to become involved, there is plenty of inspiration on the Christmas at Community Links page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please - donate if you can - it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
Ho ho ho!
Paul
