As many of you will probably already know, I am running the New York Marathon on November 1st.
Given that the limits of my recent physical exertions have been through playing golf, I expect this to be quite a challenge, and needless to say, training has been tough!
I have decided to run for Edward's Trust, who are a Midlands-based UK charity providing support for families who have gone through bereavement. The charity was set up by Peter and Hilary Dent in 1988 when their 7 year old son Edward sadly died of Leukemia. I was in Edward's class at Knowle Infant School when he passed away, so the charity is very close to my heart. So far to raise some funds I organised a Football tournament on Sunday 23rd August in Knowle, which was a great success (although my team lost on the day!). I also have a gig scheduled at Knowle FC on September 19th (featuring local acts; 'One Eyed Jacks', 'Blue Nation' and my old band 'Chase') and a quiz night in London on October 17th.
