Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to drag myself around the London Marathon this year and I would love to raise some money for a superb cause at the same time.
The Kampala Children's centre is an amazing project in Uganda, giving a safe home, and education to children that have had a tough start in life. The home is funded by the Nations Discipleship Enterprise.
I was privileged to meet some of the children recently as they have formed a choir that came to England to perform and tell their stories. Years of conflict and the Aids crisis in Uganda have left many children destitute and homeless! The KCC are responding to this need by building a centre for at least 1,000 children. They started with a 30-acre site, 10 miles west of Kampala. The children come from the war-torn northern Uganda and slums of Kampala. The children are loved and cared for, given an education and equipped in the hope that when they grow up they will go back into the community to work, or go on to university. The Centre opened in September 2005 and now looks after over 52 children. More houses are being built to accommodate more children who will be moving in 2007.

As I have a ballot place for the marathon I do not have a minimum amount I need to raise in order to fund the place, but I would love to raise £1000 to make a real difference. I hope you can help.
