My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. We have rehomed 3 dogs (Bumble, Pepper & Murphy) from the Hertfordshire branch of the Blue Cross. As I turn 40, I thought the London Marathon would be a challenge (less scary than a bungee jump, maybe when i'm 50!!) that could help raise money as well. We like to support the Blue Cross at events such as Crufts & Discover Dogs, by demonstrating agility.

Nov 06. Training is going well,we're up to 8.0 miles, Murphy with his long legs makes it look easy & Pepper at 11 years old thinks she should retire!

Jan 07.  We've taken the plunge & rehomed another Blue Cross dog. He's approx a year old, black & tan crossbreed, we've named him Sonny. Will add a photo of him when we can get him to sit still for more than a couple of seconds ! Training is up to 10 miles & I'm being to realize how far 26 miles is.

Feb 07. Training is up to 15 miles, my knees are giving me grief but still perservering. 'New boy' Sonny has fitted in brilliantly, he's definately got much more energy than me !

March 07.Have had to ease up on the training due to my knees, have been swimming instead & am gradually building back up. I'm doing a half marathon at Silverstone racetrack with 9000 others to get an idea of running in a crowd. Pepper's at Crufts this month representing The Blue Cross at agility. I also turn 40 this month !!

18/03/07 Silverstone Half Marathon- what lovely weather, we had sun, wind, rain, hail & more sun !! I was pleased with a time of 1h:54m, but don't expect a sub-4hr for the full one. Training is back on track, supplemented with gym & swimming. Only 4 weeks to go....

14/04/04.Have completed a couple of 20 mile runs & survived (just),will probably have to walk the last six. Training winds down now as there only a week to go so I need to let my legs have a good rest!

I running as a dalmation so watch out for the spotted black & white mad dog on the telly. Wish me luck....
