The “Peacocks” - Anteneh, Kevin, Bob & Mark - are taking on the Four Peaks Challenge this summer under the sponsorship and emblem of Arbuthnot Banking Group. We’d be grateful if you would sponsor us in support of ‘Wooden Spoon’ and the terrific work they do for disadvantaged children. Over the last 25 years Wooden Spoon has raised over £13 million for mostly capital projects ranging from a Family Cancer Care and Hematology Unit to play areas in hospices to facilities for kids with cerebral palsy. The Wooden Spoon has enhanced the lives of over 500,000 children and young people. Last year’s Four Peaks Challenge raised £385 thousand. With your generosity we can help them beat £400 thousand this year. Starting on June 26 our challenge is to drive 2000 miles non-stop to ascend Ben Nevis (Scotland), Helvellyn (England), Snowdon (Wales) and Carantuohill (Ireland), all within 48 hours. Mark and Kevin did the Four Peaks in 2000 and 2002, raising £100 thousand in total for the Wooden Spoon, and they are delighted to be joined this year by Bob, a seasoned charity walker, who has been a prolific fund raiser for the Bobby Moore Fund. Donating through this site is simple, fast and secure. Moreover, Wooden Spoon will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Many thanks for your support.
