Sister Margret and Sister Perpetual, the women who I have stayed with and who run the hospitals at Nkahmanya and Mtendere respectively are matriarchs in the finest sense of the word, and I have seen for myself their ability to exemplify girl power in a country that has only just begun to offer women any substantial footing. With the election of Joyce Banda as President the country hopes stabilise, but in the mean time, donations from individuals such as you are the only way that these hospitals can continue to offer the support and service that their communities require.
