My story

Team Mange Tout (Mark and Rob Johnson, Paul and Steve Batchford) are attempting to cycle 444Km from London to Paris over 4 days starting on the 26th July. We hope to raise money through Heart Link for the East Midlands Childrens Heart Care Association, based at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester. The unit is looking after Isla Batchford, Paul and Steve's niece. Isla was born in September last year and at three months old was diagnosed with Dilated Cardio Myopathy, part of her heart is enlarged such that it doesnt pump properly. As there is no cure for the condition Isla relies heavily on the unit, and may require a heart transplant in the future. The unit provides huge support for Isla, her parents Chris and Emma, and does lots of great work for many families with young children affected by heart conditions.

Unlike some organised rides, we are funding everything ourselves (with our parents driving the support vehicles) so as to raise as much money as possible directly for the unit. The ride is personal for all of us and any amount you can spare would be gratefully received
