A big thank you to everyone who sponsored me. We've smashed my target and I smashed my target finish time, completing the course in 2:55:40 !
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you will know that I ran the London Marathon in 2009 as part of Team RNIB (Royal National Institute for Blind People). You may not know that my motivation for this was my inspirational mother who for several years now has been suffering with Wet Macular Degeneration. A condition that effects your central vision, leaving you with peripheral vision only.
There is no cure for this condition but mum gets great support from the RNIB in the form of reading aids and a talking book service.
This June I turned 40 and in a moment of madness decided I needed a challenge to get me fit again and try to deal with the beer belly while I could still see my feet ! Having ran a marathon in 2009 and completed the last 5 stages of the 2010 Tour de France route I thought I would give a triathlon a go !
I will be completing the Olympic Distance Virgin Active London Triathlon on Sunday 23rd September. Thats a 1500m swim, 40km bike and 10km run.
I am well into my training and am having swimming lessons for the first time in 30 years ! I would like to raise £550 for this fantastic charity who help my mum and many other people. I know times are tough but I would appreciate any donation you can manage.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks in advance
