In June I'll be trekking 200km on horseback across a remote mountain range in Mongolia, spending up to 8hrs in the saddle a day and living in very basic conditions in order to raise money for the Brooke Hospital for Animals.
The Brooke benefits not only 700,000 animals but their owners too, in some of the poorest countries in the world.
Brooke's work shows that an average of five to six people are dependent on each working animal because extended families rely on the income generated through a working animal. In this way, the Brooke helps support the livelihoods of around 43 million people.
50p could pay for four hoof picks to help keep hooves free from dirt and infection
£20 could pay for ten boxes of painkillers to relieve horses and donkeys suffering from the pain of leg or hoof problems
£40 could pay for a vet for a day who will treat sick and injured horses and donkeys, and educate their owners
