Hello. Thank you for taking the time to look at our fundraising page – We are Chris Gearing, Adam Starritt, Guy Apps and Maciej Andrzejak and we will be cycling from London to Paris (approx 300 miles) between the 1st and 5th of July, to raise money for Pepenbury.
We have started a grueling training programme and have taken to wearing Lycra on a regular basis - good times! The cycle ride is over 4 days averaging 70 miles a day on the saddle.
We are taking part in this challenge to raise money towards supporting people with Autism and challenging behaviour. Autism is still relatively unknown as a disability; however it effects the lives of 500,000 families. It is a lifelong development disability that effects the way a person communicates and reacts within social environments. As a result, people with Autism have a lower ability to develop friendships and to understand people’s emotional expressions. .With your help Pepenbury can offer these people a safe and enjoyable social environment and activities to develop their skills, talents and hobbies. Further details about the work of Pepenbury can be found on the website www.pepenbury.info
The four cyclists are undergoing a gruelling training regime, including gym sessions at Fusion gym in Tunbridge Wells, using a variety of techniques to help them get fit in time for the event. They have spent time on spinning bike doing a range of cardio vascular exercises at Uplands school in Wadhurst.
With a final word on the beauty of Gift Aid..."Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Pepenbury gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please be generous with your support and sponsor us!
Thanks one and all.
Chris, Adam, Guy, Maciej
