Hello and thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

In September 2010 five of Lisa’s family and friends are joining a team from Macmillan Cancer Support and hiking the Inca Trail. From high, remote mountain trails to the first sight of the legendary Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, this will be a truly memorable trek. We will climb steep trails all the way to 4,200m in fantastic and diverse mountainous country. The trek will take us through lush cloud forest, green valleys and high passes with breathtaking views of snow-capped Andean peaks. 

We are doing this in memory of Lisa Dempsey, a beautiful and amazing person who in May 2009 lost her battle with cancer.  Lisa was an inspiration to everybody she knew.  Even when times were hard and there only seemed to be bad news she always took the positives out of life.  In her short 30 years and especially in the last 10 years when her health was always trying to hold her back she did things and went places that even well people haven’t experienced.  She had a remarkable gift in gathering people together and making things happen.  So carrying on in her style we all thought that this trek would be a great thing to achieve as a group whilst also raising money towards a cause that has touched all our lives.  Macmillan Cancer Support provided a huge amount support to Lisa and Michael and this is our thank you.
