IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF "JT" WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!! Friday 29th May 2009 at 6.12 am we reached the summit of KILI in a snowstorm. Thanks to you all for your kind donations.

On the 22nd of May we are travelling to Tanzania to climb 19,341 feet (5,895m) to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro in memory of our son, Lt John "JT" Thornton RM (pictured on the right with the flag of St George). John made the summit in 2002, aged 17, and now its our turn to follow in his footsteps and to stand where he stood, on the roof of Africa (at a combined age of 113!).
