Story
Pete was a fabulous friend to a great many people and is missed sorely.
One of his greatest qualities was staying in touch with friends. Our challenge is focussed around that bond of friendship with him specifically but also to honour friendship in general. Whilst paying tribute to him and that friendship we will raise money for research into the Leukaemia he battled against and the Lymphoma that finally took him from us.
Many of us knew him through the two rugby clubs he was such a integral part of - Aachen and Old Dunstonians.
We will be riding from Aachen Rugby Club to Old Dunstonian Rugby Club from 11-14th September 2013 - a 3.5 day challenge covering 300 odd miles. Not such an easy challenge for 'social rugby players'.
Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research is committed to one day beating blood cancers like those that Pete battled for a year to overcome. It's research will help to ensure that more and more people who succumb to these diesases can beat them and live full lives. For Pete, the illness came from out of the blue and was a stark reminder how at the mercy of fate we all are.
If you knew Pete you will know how worthy a cause this is. If you didn't then we would be immensely grateful for any donation you can give anyway.
Please dig deep and donate now so that we can honour the memory of our friend, pay respect to friendship in general and help the great work at Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research strive even further forward.
