London Marathon 2010...DONE!
You'll be pleased to know that I completed the London Marathon 2010 in one piece...just! I completed it in a time of 3 hours 49 minutes which I am very happy with. It was an incredible experience and whilst horrendously painful at times it is something I will never forget. It's an old cliche but the fact that I was running for charity and so many of you had sponsored me really did keep me going!
I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored me, the level of support has been staggering and the charity I ran for, Vitalise, are also extremely grateful.
Vitalise do a great job in providing short breaks for disabled people and their carers at their own accessible centres in the UK. They also organise a programme of holidays and activity breaks for visually impaired and partially sighted people accompanied by sighted guides, both in the UK and abroad.
One in four people in the UK is affected by disability - either they are disabled themselves or they care for someone who is. Many of them do not qualify for support from their local authorities. This is where Vitalise come in and provide a fantastic and deserving service.
It is therefore clear to see that the money that you have all helped to raise will be used extremely effectively and for fantastic causes.
Thank you again
Peter
