Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am going to paddle from Southend pier to Walton on the naize pier with my friend Soroush in an inflatable canoe in memory of my mum Sheila Luke who died of cancer in 2005.

It's a 45 mile journey and it will be against the tide most of the way. Part of our trip will take us through an M.O.D. artillary testing range and through one of the fastest tidal rivers in the country and along a treacherous coast that has claimed the lives of many experienced sailors in very sturdy boats.

We are doing this trip to help raise money for havens hospices so the hospice can continue to help people like my mum and their families.

My mum loved life and she knew how to live it "with a smile on your face" you could hear her infectious laughter every where she went.  She made friends with everyone, she was an amazing women.

All sponser moneys will go to http://www.havenshospices.org.uk/  please give whatever you can, no donation is too small.
