My story

Update:

Some of you might already be aware from reading the blog, that we never quite actually made it to Scotland. This obviously means, that I've stolen all your money, without doing my deed, of cycling 1000 miles... I made it to 400 miles, and then, well I got the train home. (check out the blog; www.ljog2009.wordpress.com)

Point is, I feel pretty bad, steeling all that money, for a good course... so, next summer, I will be doing the trip again... this time supported, allowing for a significantly larger amount of time in the day, as well as reducing the bikes weight a very large amount. A few people have made it clear (and I thank you very much, you know who you are, but I doubt your reading this!) that they'd drive a car to support me.

So I'll leave this open, and hopefully I might hit my £2000 target.

Thanks to those that have already sponsored me, and I'll keep you all updated in the future!

Peter

I will be starting with two friends from my course on the 1st July in Lands Ends (Cornwall) and finishing in John O'Groats (Scotland), aiming to complete the 1000 mile trip in 14 days. The trip will be unsupported so all gear will be carried on our bikes and we will be stopping at campsites each night.

I will be cycling in aid of St Michaels Hospice, a local charity who my mum works for that provides specialist care for those with life limiting diagnoses thoughout the local communities, whether in the In-Patient Unit, Day Therapy Centre or supported at home by a 24/7 Hospice at Home team.

We will be updating our blog each day (internet and phone signal providing!), hopefully with pictures on the link below. This also includes information about me, the other two riders, Peter C and Ollie, as well as the ride and route.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Michael's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Cheers all, and thanks for sponsoring(!?)
