OMG I AM RUNNING IN A MARATHON TOMORROW, NEVER THOUGHT I BE SAYING THAT
6th April
I am not sure if I dreaming or in shock but I did 19 miles yesterday, yes me Peter Mizzi trotted 19 miles yesterday how mad does that sound, it is making me have a laugh. To be honest I have been working really hard to get this far, staying in on too many nights so I can do the run the next day. That was the last of the long runs before the big day J I am starting to taper down now, I even have the terminology. Not sure how I am going to do the last 7 miles, thinking I might have to crawl because I had nothing left in the tank yesterday. What is making my-self imposed torture more than worthwhile is the wonderful support I have been getting in sponsorship from everyone for SPINAL RESEARCH which is a fantastic charity close to my heart
SO IF YOU CAN HELP TO RAISE EVEN MORE IT IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. THANK YOU everyone.
An aching Pete

Over the last few months I have been pounding the streets and working hard I am trying to do an 18 mile run tomorrow that would be 36 this week. Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me and Spinal Research I think it’s fantastic, as it is for such a worthwhile cause and the Spinal charities don't get as much "airtime" as others, would love to raise as much as possible with all your help, a massive thank you. Pete
HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP (ok I think you get the idea)
. Ok most of you who know me think I am mad, but I am now in agreement. I am doing (sorry attempting) the 2009 LONDON MARATHON!!!To join in my suffering have a look at :
Pete Mizzi's attempt to survive the MARATHONUntil now the furthest I have run has been 10K, whilst chasing a Budweiser truck on a hot summers day, not only did I not catch the truck, I think I had a heart attack and could not leave my sofa for ten days after!!!!
I have a friend in a wheel chair after a tragic bike accident and after seeing him at Stoke Mandeville I have seen firsthand how lives are altered by spinal injuries. That is why I will be raising money for SPINAL RESEARCH, these people do fantastic life changing work for people who have and will suffer spinal injuries for more info look at WWW.spinal-research.org .
Whilst each accident has overwhelming consequences for the individual, the total number affected is not large enough for government funding IN OTHER WORDS THEY NEED OUR HELP TO CONTINUE THEIR WORK. Their ultimate aim is to find the best method of reversing paralysis so it is no longer a permanet effect of spinal cord injury.
I must admit at the moment I am 100% crapping (sorry) myself at the thought of this, but at least with your help spinal research will benefit, (and who knows I might survive) If you can, come and see me suffer on the day!!!
This without doubt is going to be my biggest challenge in my life and I am being told I need to give up the booze and chocloates as well!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Pete
