Thanks for visiting my fundraising page for SPANA. I have decided to make the Great North Run a wee bit more difficult - by wearing the costume in the picture. As you can probably tell it weighs a ton. People keep asking if I'm mad. And every now and again, I think I could be, but then I remember who I am raising money for. And I remember those sad horses, in sweltering heat, pulling tourists and heavy carriages around tourist attractions - I also remember through my work, those images of Donkey's having so many bricks loaded into a basket on their back, that their legs buckle under the weight - often breaking them. I want to do something to help make their lives more bearable. I hope you can help me acheive that. This costume takes about 20-30 mins to build around me - hanging off the side are four water buckets and pretend sacks of rice (I've been persuaded not to carry real sacks). On the top is a huge basket, full of pretend bricks - all built around a wooden frame and saddle.
