Musequality, founded in May 2007, sets up and supports music projects for some of the poorest children in the developing world. Our aim is not to produce professional musicians but to give vulnerable children the chance to learn skills – such as self-confidence, problem-solving, numeracy and goal-setting – and build a sense of identity that will give them a route out of poverty and away from the risks of drug culture, violence and crime. My story

Hello! Thanks for coming here and donating money to Musequality, which is an excellent organisation that deserves all the money you can afford to donate.

On Sunday 14th June, as part of Musequality's World Busk week, I and some friends will be busking through Terry Riley's "In C". We'll be on the South Bank, somewhere between the Royal Festival Hall and the London Eye. Depending on who gets there when, there may be additional entertainments. The main event will begin about 11.45 though. If you can get along it'd be great to see you there!

"In C" is a genuinely seminal piece of music: it was one of the works that defined the American minimalist movement in the early 60s. As it's scored for any number or combination of instruments and has a flexible duration it's perfect for busking. And where better to play it than in a station on the Jubilee line extension?
