Hi everyone. Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I have reached a crossroads in my life, as you will know, and having received hefty doses of steroids as part of my treatment I have put on a large amount of weight ... apart from the fact I was overweight before prostate cancer made an appearance! No excuses....!
I am planning to diet and to lose around 3 stone - 42 pounds - over a period of around a year. If you wish to sponsor me in this you can either wait until the end target is announced and pay up front in one go or you can sponsor periodically. If you let me have your email address I will be sending out regular updates giving the progress made so far and you can 'top up' your sponsorship accordingly. I think It would be more of an encouragement to me if it's done this way as I'll know folk are keeping track of how I'm doing.
My family have encouraged me to register with ITV's 'Feelgood Factor' as a way of helping to set targets, monitor progress and generally manage my diet and weight loss. I have undertaken to sponsor myself pound-for-pound (£1:1lb) but you can set whatever level of cash-per-pound with which you feel comfortable.
The fundraising target at the top of this page is only an arbitrary figure - it will depend on how many folk take part and what level of sponsorship they choose and could change.
As I have had excellent treatment and care from Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield I have chosen Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity to benefit from my weight loss.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support, generosity and concern.
Love and best wishes, Peter
