Breakfast Club Tanzania is an NGO based in Mtwara region, Southern Tanzania. We aim to combat hunger amongst schoolchildren through sustainable feeding programmes. Breakfast Club Tanzania works in partnership with two rural schools, helping to provide daily porridge and fruit to hundreds of pupils.

Story

Had your fill at breakfast this morning? Looking forward to lunch? Now I'm not trying to make you feel guilty, and I know its been said a hundred times before, but the harsh reality is that not everyone is as lucky as we are. What we often take for granted, such as basic nutrition, is often hard to come by in lesser developed areas of the world.

The Breakfast club is cracking little charity which a friend of mine, JC, is involved with. Its based in the Southern reaches of Tanzania and operates to provide simple foodstuff to hundreds of children at the beginning of their school day. In addition to providing the kids with the valuable nutrients that they need to healthily develop, this also gives them an energy boost to improve their focus at school.

Late notice I know, but I'm off to tackle Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa this week, in a similar route to the Red Nose Big Climb being undertaken by Chris Moyles, Gary Barlow, Ferne Cotton and co. Its scheduled to take 7 days, with all 6 nights camping on the mountain in temperatures well below freezing. I'm really looking forward to this trek - its by far the biggest climb I've ever done before and if I can raise a little money for the Breakfast Club, it will make it all the more satisfying and worthwhile.

If time allows I am hoping to get down to one of the projects when I descend the mountain, and will happily blab on for hours to anyone who wishes to hear about the adventure when I;m back!

Cheers to you all, and please, please give a few pounds to support the Breakfast Club
