Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Hello everyone.
Those who know me, know I have been fitness/sports mad all my life. When I was younger I raised money for CANCER charities through my sporting events. To celebrate the completion of 30 years as a Police Officer I thought it a good time to do something challenging and raise money for my given charity at the same time. Read on and I will tell you what I am going to do.
St. Barnabas Hospice in Worthing cares and caters for the needs of terminally Ill patients and their families. I have lost my brother, friends and colleagues to this disease, and I have personally seen the dedication of the staff of St Barnabas bring about a caring and dignified end to these patients lives. St Barnabas is run through charitable donations, and is in the process of building a new Hospice so the need for funds is greater than ever. The St Barnabas web site will tell you what they are trying to achieve.
SO.......On 23rd October 2009 I am heading off to Zurich (Switzerland) where the following day I am attending an International Spin Cycling event. This is a 13 hour marathon, and can be run as individuals or in teams. It is my intention to sit on the bike and pedal for the whole 13 hours. There are people who say this is crazy and can't be done. Well I am out to prove them wrong! If you have faith in my intentions I ask that you show it by placing a donation through this site. I am hoping to raise a minimum of £1,000, and I need your help to do it.
St Barnabas is a fantastic, caring and peaceful organisation which deserves our support.....Please help me to help and support this charity. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Barnabas Hospices (Sussex) Ltd gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
