The Shooting Star Children's Hospice is a very special place, a home from home for families who find themselves in truly unimaginable circumstances. Our Care Team are privileged to provide specialist care and support - sharing the good days, being there every step of the way through the more difficult times. The care is family-centred, focusing on the individual needs of the child, or young person, their parents and siblings. Through the provision of respite, palliative and specialist end of life care, whether in the hospice or in the family's own home, we strive to ensure that quality of life is enhanced for the whole family throughout the course of a child's illness and beyond. Every year we must raise £3 million and with no long-term statutory funding, we rely on voluntary donations

My story

We've now completed the Half marathon and are slowly recovering from aches & pains. Thanks to all who have sponsored us - remember you can still donate through this page until December. We're very proud to have completed the run (it was touch and go for a while!!) and proud too to have reached our £1000 milestone :o) We couldn't have done it without you, so HUGE thanks.

We're taking on the might of the Henley Half Marathon in October and our running experience ranges from none at all to some distance running many many moons ago! We're hoping that 16 weeks is enough time to train (captain Catherine - in the pink - assures us it's possible!)...
