On 24th November, climbed Ras Dashen - the fourth highest mountain in Africa. At 4,543m, that's over three times the height of Ben Nevis, higher than the Matterhorn, nearly as high as Mont Blanc! Getting there involved an 80 km (50 mile) trek in the Simien Mountains of Ethiopia. I did this to raise money in aid of RETRAK, a charity that helps street children in East Africa. Since 1996 RETRAK's flagship project in Uganda has helped over 500 street children find an alternative to life on the streets. RETRAK provides security, shelter, food, medical care, fun and love to these children. It helps them back to school or, for older children, training leading to worthwhile employment. Where possible, RETRAK reunites children with their families; otherwise it seeks secure and loving foster homes. For more information see www.retrak.org If you sponsor me, you'll really encourage me by showing that you, too, care about some of the poorest and most vulnerable children on Earth. Remember, I paid the full cost of my trip, so everything you give will go to them, not me. So please, please sponsor me by filling in the details below. Thank you very much for your support. £10 will feed a boy at the "Halfway House" for 2 weeks £30 will pay for one term at primary school £50 will cover the annual costs of following up a resettled child £100 will pay for a months treatments at the medical centre £450 will cover the entire cost of setting up a business venture to give a livelihood to one or more young men
