My story

In 2005 I was diagnosed with Cancer of the Bowel. At 48, it came as a great shock to me personally, my wife and our four young children. After undergoing radiotherapy, followed by two operations and chemotherapy I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2006 for the Charity Beating Bowel Cancer. Last year I cycled from Coast to Coast across England and this year I am running the London Marathon.
Bowel Cancer affects 1 in 18 people in their lifetimes. Each year over 35000 will be told they have the disease. Around half that number dies each year often through ignoring symptoms and hoping they will go away. However early diagnosis can make a real difference in survival rates.
Beating Bowel Cancer is a great charity whose aims are to raise awareness of the disease and offer practical support to people who are suffering. Simply getting the message out about having symptoms checked out quickly will save many lives.
Please help us to get that message out and let’s make a difference.
The Marathon is on the 13th April and is a run of just over 26 miles. For someone who hadn’t run more than 6 miles since 1982   it will be a challenge but with your support I am determined to make it.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Beating Bowel Cancer will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
