Hey Everyone!
As most of you know, I’m in at the moment on exchange for the semester at Auckland Uni. I’d been thinking about it before I came out but now it’s got to planning the last few months I’ve decided that I am going to do a sky dive (however crazy and unlike me it may seem!) to raise money for Activenture. If I tell you exactly when I’m doing it a certain sister of mine won’t sleep again till she’s seen me in flesh, but you’ll all know as soon as I’ve done it!
Activenture is an organisation which runs holidays for disabled children and adults. It runs every school holiday and gives the guests a chance to do activities that they wouldn’t normally have a chance to do – whether it’s things that seem simple to us such as going shopping or bowling, to getting very very muddy on obstacle courses! It also gives their families and carers a much needed break. This is something which is very close to my heart as I have been a leader on these weeks, and also have personal experience of families with disabled and special needs children.
I’ve written more than enough for you all to read, but the most important thing is this: I know everyone says it, but really the smallest amount of money will help! I’m hoping to raise as much money as I can, I’ll be paying for the sky dive so all money raised will go straight to Activenture. Please give what you feel you can now, I know for many of you it’s the start of term after an expensive summer but just a couple of pounds makes a lot of difference :) I’ll probably get a few people at home to be collectors as well if you don’t like this whole internet-money thing!
