Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. On 19/20 July 2008, Philippa, Jane, Wendy and Mary walked 100kms (that's just less than 70 miles!) in just over 30 hours  - yes, that's non stop and overnight - for Oxfam.

We were all a bit worried about what we'd taken on but we trained hard - from snow to sunburn and day and night and had a wonderful time - truly foot slogging and bond building!

We couldn't have done it without our excellent support crew - Jan, Alex, Martin, Jon, Izzy and Emily - who spurred us on, fed and watered us and provided clean socks and good advice along the way. None of us had ever walked so far in one go before - the equivalent of 2 and half marathons and ascents over the route equalling Ben Nevis- it was an amazing personal challenge to us all.

And perhaps bet of all, we've exceeded our fundraising target, thanks to all our wonderful friends, families and colleagues who supported us every stpe of the way. Thank you ALL - your donations really will make a difference to the lives of children and families across the world and to Ghurka families in particular.

One last thing to say - never, ever again!! :-))
